ABOUT BYL

The Barrington Youth Lacrosse Association is a private, non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to promoting and advancing the game of lacrosse in the Barrington community. Find out why lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the US! Barrington Youth Lacrosse is the official feeder program for Barrington High School Lacrosse.

2025 Registration is now open!  

 

Please register by 1/31/2025 for the Early Bird Discount!  Registration closes 2/20/2025.  Below is the preliminary Spring season specific information.  

BOYS – Grades 1-8

 

Spring League Teams (Grades 1-8)

  •  Participation/Team Formation -  

    • Teams will be formed by grade level, taking into account player experience and number of players registered, to best support player development needs and ensure balanced competition.

 

  • Practices -

    • 3/8 and 3/15: Practices will be held at Salt Creek Sports Center.

    • 3/1-3/20: Additional practices will be scheduled at local facilities.

    • 4/1 – 5/28: Practices will be held primarily at Beese on Tuesday and Wednesday.

      • Practices will be held for 60-90 minutes between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.

 

  •  Games -

    • Spring league teams will play in the Illinois Boys Lacrosse Association (IBLA).

    • Games are scheduled to begin after April 6th. The format will be different than last year. Each team will likely play games at different locations on different days. Barrington hopes to host at least one play day, similar to last year, at Barrington High School.

    • Grade 1-2 Teams will play league games on 4/13, 4/20, and 5/11, and playoffs on 5/18

 

  • Tournaments - (subject to change)

    • Spring League Teams will attend the following tournaments:

      • Border Wars: 5/3 – 5/4, Oak Brook, IL (Grades 1-8).

      • IBLA State Championships: 5/31 – 6/1, Chicagoland (Grades 3-8).

 

  • Uniforms -

    • All players will receive new annual uniforms, the uniform cost is included in the registration fee.

 

Spring Stampede Tournament Teams (Grades 3-8) - BYL will be offering Spring Tournament Teams 

  • Stampede Participation/Team Formation -

    • ALL players, including those who played Winter Box Stampede, must try-out separately for the Spring Stampede Tournament Team.  Teams will be formed based on skill and commitment. 

    • Stampede Tournament Team players must play for both the BYL Spring League Team and the Stampede Tournament Team.

    • Stampede Tournament Team players must commit to attend all lacrosse practices, games and tournaments.

    • Participation on the Stampede Tournament Team will require an additional fee.

    • Stampede Tournament Team cost and try-out dates will be communicated at a later date.

 

  • Stampede Practices -

    • Practices will be held on Fridays at Beese between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.

    • Practices will be coached in conjunction with Barrington High School coaches and players.

    • Players must also attend their Spring League Team practices.

 

  • Stampede Tournaments - (subject to change)

    • Stampede Tournament Teams will attend the following tournaments:

      • Rip the Duck: 4/26-4/27, South Bend, IN (Grades 3-8).

      • Prairie State Tournament: 5/24, Glenview, IL (Grades 3-8).

 

GIRLS – Grades 1-8

  • Participation/Team Formation 

    • Teams will be formed by grade level.  Depending on the number of players registered, we may combine grade levels to make full teams.

 

  • Practices -

    • 3/8 and 3/15: Practices will be held at Salt Creek Sports Center.

    • 3/1-3/20: Additional practices will be scheduled at local facilities.

    • 4/1 – 5/28: Practices will be held primarily at Beese on Tuesday and Wednesday.

      • Practices will be held for 60-90 minutes between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.

 

  • Games -

    • Spring league teams play in the Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association IGLA.

    • Game schedules are TBD. 

 

  • Tournaments - (subject to change)

    • Spring league teams will attend the following tournaments:

      • Rip The Duck: 4/26-4/27 South Bend, IN (Grades 3-8)

      • Prairie State Tournament: 5/24, Vernon Hills, IL (Grades 1-8)

 

  • Uniforms-

    • All players will receive new annual uniforms, the uniform cost is included in the registration fee.

 

Barrington Youth Lacrosse works closely with the Barrington High School teams and coaches, and all future BHS players are strongly encouraged to play for Barrington Youth Lacrosse.

 

Barrington Youth Lacrosse is the official feeder program for Barrington High School Lacrosse and players should live within the Barrington 220 School District. 

 

We are a volunteer run organization. If you are interested in coaching or volunteering, please email barringtonyouthlax@gmail.com.  You do not need to have lacrosse experience.
